What is a payment dispute?

Modified on Tue, 23 Jul at 3:48 PM

Payment disputes are a type of consumer protection, which gives cardholders the right to dispute a credit or debit card transaction if they think it was unauthorized or illegitimate.

If a transaction is disputed, the issuing bank or payment service provider can sometimes reverse the charge if the cardholder can submit evidence that the charge was not legitimate.

Please note, a dispute typically takes between 30 and 90 days to be resolved and should always be the last way of dealing with an issue. We can usually help you directly and faster if you reach out to us by opening a support ticket

If we receive a payment dispute, we usually cancel and refund all outstanding orders that are linked to the same bank card, in order to prevent any further disputes.
